For the back that carries

Chiropractic care for parents

For the parent whose back carries a car seat, a baby and a diaper bag, and who has little time for an appointment.

Visits for parents are the same as for any adult: a talk, an exam and, if your doctor suggests it, an adjustment. You can bring your baby along, and we will help you find a position for the visit that works for you both.

What to expect

  • What a visit includes

A talk about how you lift, carry and sleep, and an exam.

    • An adjustment if the doctor suggests it

    • Lifting, carrying and feeding positions to try at home

    • Room for your baby to be with you

  • How long and how often

Your doctor sets a plan after the exam and changes it as you go. We do not promise a number of visits or a result.

  • What we do not claim

We do not claim to treat any condition, and we do not promise that care will change how your body recovers. Results vary.

  • When to see a physician first

See your physician first if you have a sudden severe headache, chest pain, new weakness or numbness, or pain that follows a fall or an accident.

  • Risks

Soreness afterward is common and usually short. Your doctor explains the risks before any care and you can say no to any part of a visit.

  • At the visit, with an itemized receipt. An adult adjustment is its own line in your written estimate.

Questions about this care

Can I bring my baby to my own visit?

Yes. Bring a carrier, a blanket or a toy, and we will plan around your baby's schedule.

I am a new parent. Is there a good time to come?

Whenever you can get out the door. Ask your physician first if you are still recovering from the birth.

Come in, baby included

A call or a message is enough to start. Nothing is booked until you say so.

  • A sudden severe headache or neck pain, dizziness, trouble speaking or seeing, new weakness or numbness, numbness in the groin or saddle area (between the legs and buttocks), or new bladder or bowel trouble needs emergency care now. Call 911 or go to an emergency room.
